Re: painting boat rub rail if its the big c-shaped one with no insert, you can get flexible primer at the aouto body supply, they use it on all the new plastic bumpers and saturn fenders. any polyeurethane paint will do. No matter how careful you are, the rub rail on your boat will often take some abuse. that’s ok! that’s the reason you have the rail in the first place. tougher stains and scuffs typically. Re: need to paint boat from rub rail down??? interlux makes a variety of paints that are easy to use. their website has all of the information you could every want. check it out: www.yachtpaint.com you will probably end up using something like their brightsides (1-part paint) or perfection (2-part paint)..
